lyrics

Build me a fine house, wash out your hair
Hide me in the valley where the water runs clear

I will find a ladder to collapse over this river
A bridge is formed, a taming force, oh

Dreams are made when finally waking up, and remembering
The haunted one that chases you but you escape it

And the high school locker filled with velvet clothes
And your eyes, your eyes peering through it, oh

Snakes and burning houses are not a threat to me
In the depths of my dreams I have no fear

If the river floods our backyard, will you carry me
To the bridge of woven hair?

Write up our wills and leave our basement to the dead
A handsome house awaits us in the morning

Your coffee on the window sill and our children in our beds
Oh the water it saves us from the fire
